Uniphos shares knowledge at Annual AFMS Show

The team at Uniphos Envirotronic Inc. is extremely knowledgeable on gas detection, and our global product manager will be sharing his expertise at the Annual Acadiana Flow Measurement Society (AFMS) Show in Lafayette, LA April 9-11.

Ed Ligus will be doing a technical, hands-on demonstration of field measurements with detector tubes during the educational offerings on the afternoon of April 11.

The class will provide an overview of the detector tube method, discuss proper use and handling, hands on measurements using tubes and interpretation of results. 

“We are looking forward to being part of this outstanding group and providing a better understanding of the detector tube method to the attendees,” said Ligus. Some of the tubes that Ligus will be using in the demonstration include our H2S, water vapor, CO2 and mercaptan.

This is the second year Uniphos has taken part in the Annual AFMS Show, but the first time one of our team members has been asked to participate in a learning workshop.

About the AFMS

The AFMS was started in 1965 by a group of pipeline and production personnel with help from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. AFMS was chartered to advance the study of measurement, with the original focus being gas measurement, but has since expanded to include liquid and NGL measurement.

Currently, the main activity of AFMS is facilitating a measurement short course and exposition each spring. Speakers are comprised of equipment manufacturers, industry experts and end users who incorporate their varied experiences to discuss measurement equipment, problems and solutions.
