Uniphos Dosimeter Tubes
Uniphos Dosimeter tubes are custom made to measure Time Weighted Average (TWA) gas concentrations over longer durations. The gas enters the dosimeter tube by the principle of natural diffusion. The sensing chemical in the dosimeter tube changes color if the target gas is present. The length of discoloration is proportional to the concentration of gas in ppm.hrs present in the area. This length of stain can be easily read against pre calibrated measurement scale printed on the tube.
Uniphos dosimeter tubes are convenient, easy to use, pre calibrated tubes that come with a safe tube holder. Customers just have to break the tube and place it in the tube holder. After completion of the measurement period, remove the tube from the tube holder and read the gas concentration directly from the printed scale on the tube.
Smoke Tubes / Air Flow Indicator Tubes
Uniphos Smoke tubes are an apt tool to determine low velocity air movements in mines, ducts, hoods, etc. Smoke tubes are sealed glass tubes filled with a pungent gas producing chemical compound. The tubes are used by breaking both ends of the smoke tube and inserting one end of the tube into a rubber bellow. The bellow is used to pump air through the tube, resulting in white smoke coming out of the other end. This white smoke allows the determination of even the smallest air flow.
Smoke tubes can also be used to test the performance of fume hoods, exhaust discharges, dryers, stacks, etc. They can also be used to perform respiratory fit tests of respirator mouth pieces as per OSH29CFR1910.134
Charcoal Tubes / Sorbent Tubes
Uniphos Charcoal tubes provide a NIOSH approved method of monitoring the work environment for non-polar organic vapors such as benzene, xylene, toluene, etc. They allow for the measurement of Time Weighted Average (TWA) concentration of these compounds.
They consist of sealed glass tubes filled with two columns of accurately weighed, high purity coconut shell charcoal. They are available in a number of sizes, based on the sampling protocol chosen.
PID Pre-filter Tubes
Uniphos PID Pre-Filter tubes are used to filter volatile organic compounds from an air sample and only allow Benzene/ Butadiene to pass through for a Benzene/ Butadiene specific measurement. These tubes are generally used in conjunction with a PID based gas monitor allowing Benzene/ Butadiene specific measurements. They are available in a variety of specifications enabling them to be used with most of the popular PID instruments available in the market.
Fire Brigate Kits
During fire accidents, some chemicals such as fluorine gas, perchlorate salts like ammonium perchlorate or chlorine trifluoride, act as oxidizers, sometimes more powerful ones than oxygen itself. A fire based on a reaction with these oxidizers can be very difficult to put out until the oxidizer is exhausted. Some of the gases like chlorine and nitrogen dioxide causes an explosion when present along with a combustible gas.
It thus becomes necessary to analyze the environment where the fire had occurred for various organic, inorganic & toxic gases. Dissolved Substance Measurement Tubes
Uniphos dissolved substance measurement tubes are an apt tool to measure the concentration of dissolved substances in wastewater by immersing the tube vertically in the sample solution. It is suitable for wastewater analysis in paper mills, petroleum refineries, chemical industries, etc.
To measure, break both ends of the tube and place it in a beaker containing the sample water. Due to capillary action the sample water starts rising through the sensing reagent column. If the sample water contains the target ion, the colour of the reagent in the tube changes. The length of discoloration is proportional to the concentration of the dissolved substance present in the sample water.
